LOCATION
The Western Cordillera goes across the west coast of North America. The mountain ranges are separated by plateaus and valleys. It goes through the province of British Columbia. The mountains in the Western Cordillera are volcanic but the inner mountains are not.

The Western Cordillera has mountains that are not yet worn out by erosion. They're double the height of the Appalachian Mountains in the east. There are a lot of mountain ranges here. The Rocky Mountains make the Continental Divide.
Climate
The west coast has a maritime climate. It varies from south to north. The west coast is moist and in some parts is the wettest in the world. The water in the Pacific Ocean moderates the winter. The summers are cooler on the outside. The valleys are warmer than the mountain slopes.

The vegetation varies enormously from mountain side to mountain side. On the windward slopes evergreen, Douglas fir, Hemlock and the Western Red Cedar Grow to be really old of age and colossal Height. Some Grow to be as a 30 story building.The Largest tree in the world, The Giant Sequoia grows near Yosemite.
